Privacy Policy — Wake

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Summary

  • On-device first. Your alarm schedules, missions, photos, and motion data are processed and stored locally on your phone.
  • No account required. Wake does not ask you to sign in, create a profile, or provide an email address.
  • We do not sell your data. Wake does not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
  • No uploading of your content. In the current version, Wake does not upload your alarm data, photos, motion samples, or mission content to Playdoc servers.
  • Optional missions. Camera and motion sensors are used only when you choose a mission that needs them, and only at the moment you run that mission.

Who we are

Wake is published by Playdoc AI, the company behind playdoc.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how Wake handles information when you use the app on iOS or Android.

For questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@playdoc.ai.

Data we process on your device

Wake is built to keep your data on your device. The tables below describe what the app stores locally, why it is needed, and whether it leaves your device in the current version.

Data processed by Wake on your device, with purpose and whether it leaves the device

Permissions

Wake may ask for system permissions so alarms and missions can work reliably. You can grant or revoke any of these at any time in your device Settings.

  • Notifications: to show alarm alerts and wake-check reminders. On iOS, Wake may request Critical Alerts if Apple grants the entitlement, so alarms can sound even when the device is silenced.
  • AlarmKit (iOS 26+): to show system lock-screen alarms that integrate with iOS.
  • Camera: used only for Photo and barcode/QR missions when you choose those missions. Wake does not continuously record video or use the camera for surveillance.
  • Motion and activity sensors: used only for shake, step, squat, and sleep-motion missions when you choose them. Wake does not continuously track your activity in the background.
  • Android exact alarms, battery optimization exemption, and display-over-other-apps: to deliver alarms reliably overnight, even when the device is dozing or locked.

What we do not do

In the current version of Wake, we do not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in.
  • Upload your alarm schedules, mission content, photos, motion samples, or sleep data to Playdoc servers.
  • Sync your content across devices through a Wake cloud service.
  • Embed third-party analytics SDKs that collect app usage.
  • Show ads or use advertising identifiers for ad targeting.
  • Sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Third parties and distribution platforms

Wake is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple, Google, and Expo Application Services (EAS) may process certain device, crash, and distribution metadata under their own privacy policies when you download, install, or update the app. Wake itself does not send your alarm or mission content to third-party analytics services in the current release.

The playdoc.ai website may use cookies or analytics to understand how visitors use the site. That website analytics is separate from Wake app data and does not include your app content.

Children

Wake is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the app. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@playdoc.ai.

International users

Wake is designed so that your app data is processed and stored locally on your device. Because your data does not leave the device through the app, no international transfer of your app content takes place through Wake.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Wake changes or when the law requires it. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version. If we make material changes, we will update the date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Wake after a change means you accept the updated policy.
